Vicente’s practice negotiates an intuitive expressiveness and a analytical reflection as part of the same process of research. His background and identity informs a search for a position outside and the elsewhere of the status quo, relating to forms obscurity and disconnection. The subject matter introduced through the work tends to belong to the realm of extremes, concerned with the relationship between political aspects and poetical ones.

Recent work departs from the concept of unconquerable wilderness extracted from the trope of Italian cannibal-films from the 70’s and 80’s, looking at topography and representation of landscape in relation to painting as well as the clutter and complexity surrounding it’s transformation bound to context.
